Compatibility requirements
Confirm these two points before you purchase:
Carrier-unlocked device
Your phone must not be locked to a single home carrier. Locked devices cannot add a travel eSIM profile.
eSIM-capable hardware
Most recent iPhones, Google Pixels, and Samsung Galaxy models support eSIM. Check your manufacturer list if unsure.
CleverFi travel eSIMs are data-only. Your primary SIM can stay active for calls and SMS on your home number.
When to install vs when to activate
Install (before travel)
- Use Wi-Fi at home or at the hotel before departure.
- Scan the QR code from your confirmation email.
- The profile downloads but does not consume travel data yet.
Activate (at destination)
- Turn on the CleverFi eSIM line in cellular settings.
- Enable data roaming for that eSIM line only.
- Service works during your plan validity window in supported countries.
What happens after purchase
From paid order to connected abroad:
